Project Story

The Jamaica Community-Based Landslide Risk Reduction Pilot Project was implemented by the Office for Disaster Preparedness and Emergency Management (ODPEM), which aimed to reduce the risk to natural disasters in vulnerable communities in Jamaica and to provide an evidence-based toolkit for vulnerability reduction throughout the Caribbean.

Bazzle Amusement produced the video component of the evidence-based tool kit and summarises the MoSSaiC approach and methodology in Jamaica. The documentary outlines the process of applying the methodology in terms of risks, challenges and opportunities, highlighting the negative and positive aspects. In general, it explains good practices of landslide risk reduction and the promotion of safer slope management in vulnerable communities. The video toolkit also serves as a resource for future implementation of MoSSaiC related interventions.
